Terms of use
Last updated: 16 October 2026
1. Who provides TripBite
TripBite is an app for planning where to stop for food on a trip. It is provided by José Antonio Cueto Mengana, tax id (NIF) 56077641F, address Subida Gurugú, 4, 4.º izquierda, 39004 Santander (Cantabria), España. Contact: hola@tripbite.app.
By using the app you accept these terms. Your data is handled as the privacy policy explains.
2. Using the app and your account
- TripBite is free and works without an account. An account lets you save trips and ratings, and send road reports.
- To create an account you must be at least 14, or have the consent of your parent or guardian.
- Use an email address that is yours and keep your password safe. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
- Do not use TripBite for illegal purposes, or to overload or bulk-copy the service.
3. Recommendations are for guidance only
- Opening hours, prices, ratings, detours, arrival times, weather and traffic come from third-party sources and approximate calculations. They can be wrong or out of date.
- Always check opening hours and allergens with the restaurant before you order.
- TripBite does not guarantee that a place is safe for an allergy or intolerance. Lines such as "coeliac-safe according to 12 travellers" are other users' opinions, not a certification.
- Fuel prices are those published by the Spanish Ministry and may not match the pump.
4. Safe driving
- Do not hold your phone while driving. Set the route and stops before you leave, or let your co-pilot do it.
- Always follow traffic rules, road signs and the instructions of traffic officers. If the app and a sign disagree, the sign wins.
- Navigation and voice prompts are an aid. You decide how to drive.
- Road reports can only be sent with the car stopped or if you are the co-pilot. TripBite gives no alerts about police checks or speed cameras.
5. Users' ratings and reports
If you rate a place or send a road report:
- Describe what you experienced yourself, truthfully.
- Do not send false or deliberately repeated reports.
- Do not write insults, illegal content, advertising or other people's personal data.
- Do not rate your own business or a competitor's.
We may remove content that breaks these rules and suspend accounts that break them seriously or repeatedly. You let us use your ratings and reports within TripBite (for example in public totals and in other drivers' alerts) while they are published.
6. Shared plans
Anyone with the link to a shared plan can see it for 30 days. Do not share links with people you don't want to see your route.
7. Data sources
TripBite uses data from OpenStreetMap (ODbL), INE (CC BY 4.0), DGT, the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0) and Google. Details and attributions are in data licences.
8. Availability and ads
- We try to keep TripBite working at all times, but there may be outages, daily search limits or changes to features.
- The free version shows ads, as the privacy policy explains. If paid features arrive in the future, their conditions will be shown before you pay.
9. Liability
- We are liable for damage we cause through wilful misconduct or gross negligence, and for anything the law does not allow us to exclude.
- We are not liable for errors in third-party data, for restaurants' decisions (closing early, changing the menu or ingredients), or for damage caused by not following traffic rules or these terms.
- None of this limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Changes
We will publish each new version of these terms here with its date. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using TripBite and ask us to delete your account.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you can go to the courts where you live.
